Handcycling

About the Sport

Handcycling is a relatively new sport and recreation to Australia and although in its infancy, it is quickly becoming a popular activity to satisfy people's needs for fitness and participation in wider community events. A handcycle is designed to enable people to use their upper body to propel a 3 wheel cycle in a similar fashion to a bicycle.

How to get involved

Wheelchair Sports Victoria coordinates monthly social ride days held on Sundays at Albert Park Lake between 11.30am - 1.30pm and also provides an opportunity for coaching if required. Handcycles and helmets are provided.
