Wheeltalk

The WSV Wheel Talk School Awareness Program during the month of August, despite the frigid conditions, has had one of its busiest months this year. Making full use of 7 trained presenters, namely: Gary Conner (Handcycling), Glen Wood (Handcycling), Nicole Harrison (Tennis), Andrew Browning (Tennis), Sean Corcoran (Rugby), Jason Sleep (Water Skiing) our newest recruit Rosalie Turnbul (Tennis).  Rosalie has already had great feedback from the schools she has visited and it is great to have her on the team.  Jason spent a week visiting schools around Shepparton and Benalla, raising awareness for the upcoming Shepparton Basketball Tournament that was being held the following weekend.

Gary also made a vast impression when he visited Belvedere Park Primary School, these comments written in:

" The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions with you and would love for you to come back"  Thank you so much for an informative and rewarding session" - Merran Widiana 5/6 Co-ordinator.

"Thank you for coming and teaching us to play wheelchair basketball and how to control a wheelchair.  I found it interesting when you were talking about spinal cord injuries and how it changed your life.  I am sorry to hear that you have a spinal cord injury.  I hope you are feeling O.K. Hope to see you again soon". - From Paige yr 5/6W

It is great to see that the 3000 students we visit each month get a great deal out of it, both informative and fun.  Keep up the great work Gary.
